The Rainbow Connection

The name pretty much says it all.

I’m a twentysomething gay boy living in Philadelphia, working, dancing, romancing, and generally drifting through life without much of an idea where I’ll end up.  I desperately miss college with its twin joys of social interaction and creative self-expression.  (I also miss the dating scene; so I guess that’s triplet joys?)  This blog is a semi-anonymous record of my life and observations.  I can’t say that I’m one of the great LGBT activists, or one of the great literary talents, or even a particularly decent and interesting person, but I’m trying my best to be all three someday.  In the meantime… welcome to my sophomore efforts.

If you stand at the corner of 12th and Locust (sort of ground zero for the Philadelphia gay scene) and shout my name loudly enough, I’ll probably hear you.

But being gay isn’t the defining trait of my personality.  It’s kind of cliche, but I really try not to let one thing define me.  I’m a whole mix of things: sometimes I’m a productive member of society, sometimes I’m a party kid hell-bent on self-gratification, and sometimes I’m a bag of depression who can’t even wriggle out of bed, let alone open up a laptop to blog about his feelings and impressions.  But one thing I am is painfully, terribly honest, at least to people I don’t know.  (I lie to my friends much more often.)  I love books, and music, and going out on a Friday night, I’m into the zodiac and Eastern religions, I can’t cook but I love it anyway, and I work full-time at an ill-defined office job, among other pursuits.  I’m open and willing to talk to almost anyone about almost anything, so give me a try, why don’t you?

That’s the long and short of it.  I promise to do my best to provide some entertainment, information, and food for thought, but if nothing else… well, I’m sure I’ll post photos of hotties I come across on the Interwebs once in a while.  (I have a weakness for Mediterranean guys.)

Nice to meet you.  :)
